FOOD

    Halo-Halo (a cocktail of fruit slices : jack fruit, banana, nata de coco, purple yam, sweet beans, jelly bits, leche plan, milk, sugar, topped with a scoop of ice cream and sprinkled with rice crispies mixed along with ice shavings served in a tall glass or in a bowl)
"Halo" means "Mix", hence Halo-Halo refers to a mixture of selected local fruits, beans and some local desserts with ice shavings and milk commonly served during summer season in the Philippines
            
    Kare-Kare (a type of dish in curry usually of peanut sauce normally with slices of cow skin and heart of banana plant)

      Pichi - Pichi ( a type of sticky pudding made out of root crop, shaped like balls and steamed and is sprinkled with coconut meat shavings)
    Sapin-Sapin (a type of sticky pudding with varying colors and layers usually served in round bilao)
    Agar-Agar (a gelatinous substance from a sea grass)

    "Ukay-Ukay" shops can also be a variation of a garage sale wherein the owner (usually a foreigner) tend to trade in or sell stuffs when he decides to go overseas.
    "Ukay" means to "Dig In" from a pile of items (like clothes) and search for the stuff you like and the one that suits your budget. Some items are hard to find or rarely seen or others are considered collectible items.
    Items bought and not commonly seen in the local market or department stores is said to be bought from "U.K." (kidding aside - from "Ukay-Ukay" shops only).

LEND A HAND

One can viewed this literally or even the way we use it accordingly:

 We got both arms to lift and carry an injured person;

 Using an arm (one free arm), we can still carry a child or an infant;

 Using the other arm, we can simultaneously assist another another person to walk by our side to safety;

 With our palms and ten fingers (of each hand), we can do a score of AID;

With open arms, we can offer ourself or receive from someone a warm embrace for comfort and relief;

Stretching an arm, one is able to reach out to help other people

 With open palms, one can reach out asking for alms;

With both palms in contact, we can pray and ask God's grace and protection;

When both palms hit each other in repetition, we can hear an astounding "CLAP, CLAP, CLAP, CLAP"
